The White Sox are hoping that October is filled with playoff baseball. There are a few scheduled doubleheaders throughout the year to make them up. With the extra playoff team in the mix this year, do not be surprised if the Toronto Blue Jays, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox all make it. The White Sox are an elite team too but that division is four teams deep. This is always going to be the case when the White Sox don’t play the NL Central as a whole. Two games at home and two at Wrigley Field will make up the Crosstown Classic this year. It isn’t fun that they only play the Chicago Cubs four times. Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez at Coors Field should equal fireworks. Even Kris Bryant and the Colorado Rockies should be fun. It will also be cool to see the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants play the White Sox as well. The best team in baseball in the Los Angeles Dodgers will be an opponent for the first time in a while which should be so fun. The White Sox are hoping that they send a fair amount of players to the big Mid-Summer Classic.įor the National League portion of the schedule, the White Sox will play the West. They will resume the second half of the season after that with the Cleveland Guardians on the 22nd. The All-Star Game is going to take place on July 19th with the Home Run Derby one day prior. It is outstanding to go there on those days, especially when the weather is nice. It will kick off a six-game homestand with them and the Tampa Bay Rays. They will come to Guaranteed Rate Field on April 12th for the Chicago White Sox Home Opener. Speaking of thorns, the Seattle Mariners had as big of an offseason as any team in Major League Baseball. The Tigers are going to be the biggest thorn in the side of the White Sox this season.

It will be a three-game series between the two best teams in the AL Central. The Chicago White Sox are going to open the year on the road on April 8th against the Detroit Tigers. Now that some games were wiped out due to the lockout, there is a revised schedule that came out on Wednesday. Spring training is about to start in terms of exhibition games which is incredibly exciting but the regular season’s Opening Day is what’s truly on everyone’s mind.
The lockout lasted for 99 days and delayed the start of the season. It would have been nice to see the Chicago White Sox open the season at home on March 31st but that just isn’t going to be the case.
